Office Design Trends 2025
In this blog, we will explore the key changes to office trends we expect to see in 2025, highlighting the benefits of each and how glass partitioning systems go hand in hand with many of these updates.
It’s the start of a brand new year, and with a new year comes new trends in office design and how the modern workplace has evolved over the past 12 months. Each year we see shifts in trends, with 2025 leaning towards a focus on sustainability, flexibility and aesthetics in particular. A constant, however, is the desire for glass office partitioning systems and all the benefits they provide in an office setting, such as style, modernity and functionality.
Hybrid-Friendly Workspaces
The more common way to work since COVID-19 has been the hybrid working pattern, splitting time between working in the office and working remotely from home. With many businesses adopting and encouraging this new way of working, companies want their office to reflect this flexibility. Many offices now are adapting their work environment to accommodate employees who share their time between their home and the office, offering more opportunities for collaborative work.
One of the most efficient and effective ways of navigating this change is through the installation of glass partitioning systems. Glass partitions help create zones within your office, transforming areas into collaborative spaces. The idea is that with a partitioning system, the overall workspace can be subdivided into semi-private zones for things such as meetings and team discussions without isolating employees from each other.
Take a look at some of our recent case studies for glass partitioning systems in offices across the country, including Eden, Manchester, where we fit a double-glazed frameless system to create private workspaces and offices for the employees there.
Sustainability
Each year, the desire to do our part for the planet increases, with more and more businesses looking closely at their impact on the environment. Many companies now are aiming to find new ways to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable, along with their eco-friendly workforce making sustainability more of a priority.
One way to reduce your impact on the environment is to cut down on the use of artificial light. For offices that are in use 12 hours a day, 5 days a week, artificial lighting can have a huge effect on energy usage and business costs. To reduce this, glass partitions can instead be installed, that way helping with the influx of natural light between rooms, and reducing the need for overhead artificial lighting.
Lots of studies have been done on the benefits of natural light in the workplace, in particular the positive effect it has on employee productivity and wellbeing. Employees report better moods and increased health benefits, such as improved sleep patterns and overall sleep quality.

One of our projects in 2024 saw us installing a single-glazed glass partition system for Orega offices in Manchester. In their brief, they stated they wanted an influx of natural light through their office, reaching even the smallest areas to keep the office well-lit. We achieved this through a frameless glass system throughout their workspace.

Integrated Technology
Every year, we see advancements in technology, whether it be phones, AI, or rockets. But glass is also getting smarter. In fact, ‘Smart Glass’ is becoming increasingly common in offices and has become an integral part of many workforces.
Smart glass allows you to instantly switch from clear glass to opaque glass at the push of a button, allowing for greater versatility in how rooms throughout your office are used.
Smart glass works by passing an electrical current through the LCD interlayer that is connected to an adjacent power supply. From here, a simple light switch or remote can trigger the switch from clear to opaque instantly.
Bespoke Glass Manifestations
Branding is one of the most important aspects of any business; a way to set you apart from the competition and establish yourself in the market. Companies will promote their brand through their website, their staff, and their products, so why should your office be any different?
Glass manifestations add an air of professionalism and modernity to any partition system and serve not only aesthetic purposes but also act as safety features. In the UK, glass manifestations are actually a legal requirement as they make large glass structures more visible, preventing accidents such as people walking into them. However, this doesn’t mean they need to be dull and boring. Glass manifestations can feature your company logo, branding visuals or funky geometric shapes that take your office setting to the next level.
Our work for QDOS, Rochdale, featured bespoke manifestations that created a personalised look to the office, featuring their logo and brand colours. Their office now matches perfectly with their business and is a sure way to impress any future clientele or business partners.
