Tips for Personalising your Glass Partitions

In this blog, we will discuss all the potential of glass office partitions in their customisation and how you can take your office up a level.

Installing a glass partitioning system in your office has many great benefits. It divides your workspace into more productive areas, allows for increased natural light, reduces the need for artificial lighting, and can help boost overall employee mood and mental well-being. Another reason for their popularity is their appearance. Glass office partitions provide a sleek and modern look to any workplace, but why not take it one step further?

Styles of Glass Partitions

One of the first decisions to make when deciding to install a glass partitioning system is the style. At this stage, you’ll want to consider what pane of glass you would prefer, and what framing you think would suit your workspace.

Glass Panel Type

The standard options for your glass partitioning system include:

Visually, there isn’t a huge amount of difference between each panel type, but performance-wise, each panel type will provide different levels of acoustics.

Single-glazing offers a degree of noise reduction while at a more affordable price.

For a higher level of acoustics, double-glazing might be the best option for your average office environment.

For offices where noise levels are heightened, and the need for quiet spaces or private meeting rooms is a priority, acoustic glass offers the best level of noise protection.

Glass Partition Design

Once you’ve decided on your panel type, choosing the overall design is the next big decision. This is the stage where you can start to get more creative with your partitioning system.

One of the most popular glass partition designs is banded glass partitions (also known as industrial design glass partitions or Crittall design). This design is known for its bold aluminium framework, commonly black but also available in other colours such as grey or white. This design has gained significant popularity in recent years due to its aesthetics but also functionality in allowing floods of natural light.

Take a look at our work for MND Investments, Blackburn, that featured our BLAQ industrial banding framework.

Another popular design is the frameless glass partition look. Frameless partitions create a seamless transition from floor to ceiling, maximising natural light whilst offering a sleek feel to your office.

Check out the work we did for Orega, Manchester, where we installed a frameless, single-glazed partitioning system.

Finally, perhaps you are opting for the more standard glass partition look with simple framing. Here you can decide if you would prefer wooden or metal frames, both giving a different overall look and feel to your office.

Wooden framing creates a more rustic and natural look, choosing between a variety of wood types, including oak or walnut.

Metal framework on the other hand maintains that industrial and contemporary feel, similar to the black banded partition style.

Frosted Glass Partitions

One of the primary benefits of glass partitioning is the separation it allows throughout your office, creating private meeting rooms or independent work areas. But let’s say you want to take privacy one step further. Frosted glass partitions are exactly the way to do that. Frosted glass not only prevents sound from escaping the room but also stops peering eyes inside. If opting for frosted glass, you can customise it further still, choosing to have full pane frosted glass, or perhaps you would prefer half and half. No matter your decision, we can make it work.

We recently carried out work for TMT Commercial Contractors in Crewe, providing part-frosted, part-clear glass partitions throughout their office.

Glass Manifestations

Now onto where you can really kick up a notch the customisation element of glass partitions: glass manifestations. Glass manifestations are the perfect way to customise your glass partitions to match your company branding, personality or interior style.

Your company logo is one of the most important elements of your corporate identity so matching your office design with your branding can be a great way to develop a sense of community and professionalism for your employees and clients. Add your logo, slogan or any other design elements to your glass partition system either through etching, vinyl, or printed film.

Another way to personalise your partition system is with colour. Glass can be tinted in various colours, or coloured film can be applied for a less permanent option. This way, if your company has a prominent colour scheme that they want evident throughout their work, their office can match.

QDOS, Rochdale wanted their company logo and branding to be prominent throughout their office, so we incorporated their logo right into their customised glass partitions. Take a look at our case study for QDOS, Rochdale.

Tips for personalising your office

When deciding to incorporate glass office partitions into your workplace, there are many options for customisation. But in order to create a full visual identity throughout your office, it is important to consider your office as a whole.

Think about what other ways your office can be personalised, including wall art, greenery or branded trinkets. Perhaps your company is a marketing agency, working with many high-end clients; consider posters of the work you have completed.

There are endless ways to customise your workspace. In doing so, you boost staff morale by creating a sense of belonging and inspiring employees to be productive whilst maintaining a strong professional image.

Personalising your glass partitioning system is the perfect way to show off your style and professionalism whilst maximising functionality. Once you consider colour, logos, and textures, the possibilities are endless.
